When a booking comes through an OTA (such as Booking.com or Expedia) it is important to cross-check the name on the card with the name of the guest.
In the event the cardholder's OTA account was hacked, and they dispute the charge, you as a hotelier will be liable to pay the money back unless you take necessary precautions.
In the event these names do not match, please make sure to verify the cardholder, and request written confirmation from the cardholder that they approve you to charge their card.
